SPPC Regular Board Meeting Minutes

Present: Shayda Bradley, Azin Lotfi, Hassan Mihankhah, Ken Niese, Sheila Shidnia, Firooz Zandi

At a regular meeting of the Society for the Promotion of Persian Culture, held at Butler University on 8/18/09, 6:30pm – 8:00pm the president in the chair, and secretary present, the following business was conducted.

Motions

1.     Date & location of Yalda at Knights of Columbus on December 19^th. Hassan Mihankhah, 2^nd Sheila Shidnia.

Shayda Bradley gave opening remarks.

1.     End of summer picnic: discussion, logistics

2.     Meheregan:

1.     Picked a non-profit organization for which to raise money. Charity which provides support for disadvantaged women in Tehran.

2.     Ken Niese and Azin Lotfi to research changing the status of the SPPC to one that is tax-deductible or start up an organization that is. 501(c)(3)

3.     Discussion of performer and logistics

1.     Iran will be featured food for September 14, NCI meeting
