The Cyrus Cylinder is an ancient clay cylinder, now broken into several fragments, on which is written a declaration in Akkadian cuneiform script.It is a 2600-year old object of modern importance, and a symbol of multi-culturalism, tolerance, diversity, and human rights. The Cylinder visited the US for the first time in 2013 through a national tour officially sponsored by the Iran Heritage Foundation. Additionally,the cylinder could be concidered as the first attempt about running a society, a state with different nationalities and faiths—a new kind of statecraft.
